The village is mentioned in the records of 1323. The Late Gothic Church of St. Jacob dates back to the mid-16th century. The village also contains several folk architecture buildings of the Jizera regional type.

At the U pyrámu crossroads (above the village, near the main road from Mladá Boleslav to Jičín), there is a stone column-type signpost from the 18th century. The junction is named after it. On the grassy area near the intersection is a memorial to the 12 men from the surrounding villages who died on 8 May 1945 in a riot against the departing defeated German soldiers.
